I recently dropped a video tour of my home network setup on YouTube, and I wanted to give you a breakdown here as well for anyone who prefers a quick read (or wants the links to the gear).

🚀 Why This Setup?
Let’s get the obvious out of the way: my entire home network lives in my garage. Not the most conventional spot, but with the right gear, it’s performing flawlessly — no dead zones, no buffering, and yes, even while four TVs and a couple of tablets are running.
I’m using TP-Link’s Omada ecosystem to power it all. It’s budget-friendly, easy to manage, and delivers enterprise-level features for residential or small business use.

🧰 Full Rack Setup Breakdown
Here’s what I’m working with:
• Access Points
- TP-Link EAP653 — handles the upstairs
- TP-Link EAP615 — covers the garage and downstairs
• Controller - TP-Link OC200 Cloud Controller — easy centralized management
• Router & Switch - TP-Link ER605 VPN Router
- TP-Link SG2016P PoE Switch
• Modem - Arris SB8200 — works great with Comcast/Xfinity
Everything is neatly mounted, cabled, and managed through the Omada interface — which gives me complete control over performance, clients, and bandwidth, right from my phone.
⸻
📶 Real-World Performance
Here’s what I’m seeing:
• Strong signal throughout the entire house
• Seamless handoff when moving between floors
• No issues streaming 4K video on multiple TVs
• Rock-solid video calls and smart home automation
And this is with all equipment in the garage — not bad, right?

🌴 What’s Next: Outdoor WiFi
I’m planning to add an outdoor access point to extend coverage to the backyard and driveway. Stay tuned for that — I’ll share another video and post once it’s live.

✅ Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a DIY tech enthusiast or a small business owner tired of flaky WiFi, this TP-Link Omada setup is worth a serious look. It’s been bulletproof for me, and I use it daily to run my business, stream, and stay connected.
